Solar PV Rebate Scheme

(GOS-UNDP-GEF Financial Rebate Scheme for Grid-Connect Rooftop PV Systems)

This scheme available in the Seychelles to encourage residential & commercial users to install Grid Connects PV systems. However, this financial scheme is available temporally and subject to strict conditions.

The rates used for the rebate scheme are as follows:

Domestic
Indexed Installed Cost = USD 2.8/Wp*
Rebate % = 25%
System Size Cap = 3 kWp
Maximum Rebate Amount = SCR 25,200
These rates are applicable for all systems commissioned after 27th April 2015.

Commercial
Indexed Installed Cost = USD 3.20/Wp*
Rebate % = 15%
System Size Cap = 15 kWp
Maximum Rebate Amount = SCR 86,600

SEEREP Loan

(Seychelles Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Program)

Finance has been made available through a loan facility to encourage residential users to adopt the use of energy efficient devices and renewable energy. 

For example:
LED lighting
Energy efficient appliances (fridge, washing machine)
Solar water heaters
Solar PV system and other renewable energy

Loan Terms*:
Eligibility: Seychelles residential customer and energy efficient or renewable energy products only
Term: 1-5 years only
Guarantee: 50% of loan
Amount: up to SCR 100,000
Interest rate: 5%
Bank Fees: no bank fees
Personal Contribution: not more than 2.5% of loan
Guarantee: not more than 50% of loan
Repayment: 1 to 5 years

Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Loan

The SME Loan is an financial incentive for the commercial sector. It is an agreement between the Government of Seychelles and the Commercial Banks. In order, to encourage commercial clients to adopt energy efficient and renewable energy products. For example solar PV systems, solar hot water, energy optimization and boat PV kits.

Loan Terms

Amount: up to SCR 3 million
Grace Period: 6 months for repayments
Bank Charges: capped at 0.25% of loan up to SCR 3 million
Personal Contribution: not more than 2.5% of loan
Guarantee : not more than value of loan
